Yes, that is the real Steve Ballmer showing the Slate, which is capable of doing Windows 7. Decide for yourself if that is better than an iPad, as the HP Slate costs about the same.
I sense a bloody war brewing between Microsoft and Apple over tablets. It could be worse than the war between Verizon and AT&T.
