Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition for $850

Nokia launches a new luxury mobile phone with the mini Gold Edition N97. It will retail for about $850 and will come in an 18 karat gold shell. It will also come pre-installed with apps like “ELLE 360 Fashion” which should be perfect to keep potential buyers up to date with the latest fashion news and trends.

Aside from that, the Nokia N97 will carry the same features as the ordinary one. Among them include a 3.2” touch screen display, full QWERTY keyboard, 5MP camera with flash and 8GB of internal memory.

Best Buy to sell the Apple iPad

Best Buy will be selling the iPad as confirmed by Apple COO Tim Cook. It looks like Apple is exhausting all means to make the Apple iPad visible as Cook also confirmed that it will be available directly from Apple’s direct sales channels and retail locales which already carry Apple products.

The Apple iPad is expected to come out in a few months and to make sure that it can be easily found, Apple is making use of all distribution channels so that customers will not have a problem getting one. Let us just hope that the Apple iPad is as good as it claims to be!

Nokia X6 16GB now available in the U.S

The Nokia X6 16GB is now available at local satellite stores in Chicago and New York for $455. This Nokia handset does not include Come with Music service but features a 360×640pixel touch screen display, HSPA, WiFi, Nokia Maps, GPS and built-in 5MP Carl Zeiss camera.

The Nokia X6 is likewise available at the Nokia Online Store for the same price but will only be available at month’s end. Alternatively, you can also check the Nokia X6 over at Amazon where you can get it for only $401.99. However you will have to wait until stocks become available.

MSI shows of 3d all-in-one PC

If you follow the electronics industry (which you probably do if you’re reading this blog) you’ll know that the rate at which the community adapts new technologies is blinding. The latest of such technologies seems to be 3D. The technology has been around for a very long time but only just recently have companies begun implementing ways to get it into the hands of consumers.

MSI has just announced that they will be the first company to ship a 3D all-in-one PC called the 3D AIO, pictured above. This comptuer will feature a 24-inch 1080p 3D display, an Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor and, of course, some nifty shutter glasses.

There’s no word on when this will be made available for purchase or what price but we do know that it will be shown at this year’s CeBIT.

MSI’s new HTPC Keyboard with an accelerometer

MSI has recently created a tiny keyboard for HTPCs, and this one has something special: a built-in accelerometer.

That’s right, this HTPC comes with an air mouse, as well as a QWERTY keyboard. It also has some media hotkeys, as well as left and right mouse buttons in the form of triggers. You should see it later for about $110.

Mobilic E7 Mobius : New MID

Moblic is a recent company and has recently presents its first product which is a cool MID – mobile internet device – named Moblic E7 Mobios.

The E8 MID Mobius boasts a 4-inch touchscreen and has a processor of 600MHz. The flash memory is pretty good at 8GB while the RAM memory is set at 256MB. In case the 8GB of internal memory aren’t enough to suit your needs, there is a slot for microSD memory cards so you can expand the memory. Other goodies of this MID include a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and WiMax as wireless connectivity mode.

Viewsonic VNB131 ViewBook Pro

ViewSonic has recently presented its first ULV notebook codenamed VNB131 ViewBook Pro, which comes with an aluminum allow casing and is considered a powerful + fast computer.

In the inside of the VNB131 ViewBook Pro you can find an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor running at 1.3GHz, and 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM, while the hard-drive has 320GB of storage capacity. As for the display screen, it measures 13.3-inches and provides a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Other goodies include a 6-cell battery that gives 12 hours of battery life, a 7-in-1 memory card reader, and WiFi among other details.

Sprint presents cell phone recycling program

Sprint has added a new service to its Buy Back program, which is related to recycled phones. In other words, if you “give” them old phones they will provide you with some credit that is instant and can be used in the spot.

With the new Spring Buy Back recycled cellphones program there are 900 devices that can be exchanged for credits, which can go from $5 to $300 depending on the model and overall condition. So… if you’ve got old cellphones laying around just take them to Sprint.

PocketGear aquires Handango

Handango is a popular provider of smartphone applications that has just been acquired by the PocketGear. What makes this move so special is that the two companies together have to offer more than 140,000 applications to plenty of different smartphones including: Palm, Symbian, Android, Windows Mobile, Java, and Linux.

In case you are interested in the big numbers, with the fresh acquisition PocketGear now supports over 2,000 handsets.

Verizon to drop Blackberry Storm

No thanks to high returns, Verizon may very well find itself dropping the Blackberry Storm and come up with a new handset. And if this rumor is true, the real loser in the end could be RIM since Verizon is their biggest retailer for the troublesome Blackberry Storm.

Rumor or not, this should be something serious especially for RIM. But when a phone has a high level of returns, what else can Verizon do other than to go with another handset? Well, just don’t be surprised if it becomes official. It seems practically imminent.

LG X200 Netbook Announced

LG has launched a new netbook in the market with the release of the LG X200 netbook. This latest LG netbook runs on an Intel Pine Trail platform paired with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and an Intel GMA 3150 graphics card.

Other features include a chicklet style keyboard, 250GB HDD, WiFi and the usual USB ports. It weighs only 2.7 pounds and will retail for only $642. It will initially be offered in Korea. No word on when it would be made available internationally.

Acer Liquid e Coming to Rogers Canada

The Acer Liquid e will be invading Canada soon, the first Android 2.1 handset to come to the country. Rogers Canada will be the official carrier to make it all happen for this Android phone that first came out at the MWC 2010.

Among the features of the Acer Liquid e include a 3.5” WVGA touch screen display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 5MP autofocus camera and a Snapdragon CPU at 768MHz. The Acer Liquid e will be offered by Rogers this coming Spring. No word yet on pricing.

1 Million LG Pop GD510 units sold

After being launched in Europe in September last year, the LG GD510 has been doing great and has reportedly sold over 1 million units which now comes close to overtaking the LG Cookie’s performance. Just in case you are unaware, the LG Pop GD510 features a 3” touch screen that comes along with a quad band connectivity.

It also boasts of other features which include a 3.2MP camera, social networking integration and changeable covers which includes a solar battery cover. This March, two new covers will be released. They will be in lime and aqua blue colors.

Alcatel OT-808 Clamshell with a Netbook Feel

Alcatel releases another entry-level handset with the Alcatel OT-808. While it may be categorized as an entry-level phone, it distinctively has a netbook look and feel which should throw anyone off. Among the features of the Alcatel OT-808 include a full QWERTY keypad, 2.4” QVGA internal display and a 1.1” external monochrome OLED display with 128×36 pixels.

Other key features include social networking capabilities, a 2MP camera, dual band GSM connectivity, an FM radio, Bluetooth and an Opera Mini browser. It will retail for about $125 but no word on when it would be officially released.

Sony offering free games with PSPgo

Play MP3 Player works by folding

This is one of the most interesting looking MP3 Players that I have seen in a while. Granted, it is only a concept by designers Jun Pyo Kim, Keun Sol Kim, Sung Mi Kang, and Joo Hee Park, but it uses origami for its inspiration.

To play your tunes, you simply fold into a triangle (universal signal for play). To stop it, fold it into a square (universal signal for stop). There is even a folding for fast forward with two triangles.

MSI GE600 : Laptop for gamers

In case you are the type of person that plays a lot of top-notch games on your laptop, pay attention to the latest addition of MSI because it will surely please you. The MSI GE6” is their latest gamer laptop and comes with an Intel HM55 chipset and the latest Intel Core i5 processors.

The graphics card is powered by an ATI Mobility Rdeon HD 5730 which has 1GB of VRAM, and in terms of screen size it boasts a 16-inch HD TFT LCD display. INA-W900 is the name of the new GPS navigation system that features a 7-inch screen and can work with the iPhone as well as the iPod. You can actually control the music being played, and search for more music directly in the GPS system.

In terms of technical features the Alpine INA-W900 GPS system comes with AM and FM radio, bluetooth, HD radio too, a remote control, an optical drive, an a power out of 50Wx4 which is pretty good for a device of this type. It comes pre-loaded with maps of the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands.

Nokia to open factory in Argentina

Nokia has recently announced the possibility to open a new handset factory in Argentina, which makes all the sense for them because it must be cheaper to produce the devices there. In case you haven’t noticed, Nokia has been consistently moving its factories to lower cost countries so the overall price becomes less expensive, and this is only another move in that chapter.

The latest “cutting spree” from Nokia is relate to its Finnish factory and the plan is to cut 12% of its workforce.
