I’m sure that most of you have used hand-cranked generators in science class, so why not actually take it out of the inapplicable classroom and apply that science to charging your mobile devices?

This is what the RollerGen bike mounted generator is designed to do. As you pedal along, all the energy you burn gets put in a battery that resembles a bar of soap.

Of course, this costs about $495 for this system, which is pretty steep.

BlackBerry to get Gmail syncing?

A recent leak has revealed that RIM is planning to develop the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) 3.0 to sync with Gmail.

If this is true, then will add support for Windows Media Audio attachments, as well as OpenOffice documents. My source also says: “BIS 3.0 will also include the decidedly less exciting updates of a reconfigured, more secure E-mail setup application and more accurate error messages that will direct users to their specific carrier”.

I’d like to see how this works.
