ExoPC Slate could give that iPad a run for its money with Windows 7

That Apple iPad has been called “an (insert portable gadget here) killer” and this ExoPC Slate could be an iPad killer if Apple wasn’t Apple.

The screen is about 0.8 inches smaller than the iPad, but it does have “full browser support with flash courtesy of Windows 7 on an Atom N270 at 1.6GHz, with 2GB of DDR2 memory and a 32GB SSD with SD expansion”. Unfortunately, the battery life is not as strong as the iPad as it can only go for four hours without charging.

It is available now with non-multitouch capacity for $780, but that will change in March for $599.

OPPO Enjoy E-Reader

There is a new E-Reader on the market and it comes from OPPO, its name is exactly Enjoy – because most likely you will enjoy your reading sessions better.

As you can’t do much for a design of an E-Reader, they’ve decided to KISS – keep it simple stupid – and add a few buttons on the right and left side, as well as below the screen. The most notable features is the use of Android as the OS, and the good price tag of $300 which doesn’t make it expensive nor cheap, it’s just in the right spot.

ViewSonic MovieBook VPD550T – PMP

ViewSonic not only releases cool MIDs like the VPCo8, but it also has a line of PMPs – Portable Media Players.

Recently they launched the MovieBook VPD550T which is a 5-inch player with touchscreen, which is suppose to feature 1080p full HD support. Anyway, this ViewSonic model plays a lot of different format files like MKV, MP3, and RMVB. It also has a slot for microSD memory cards.

The 8GB model of the ViewSonic MovieBook VPD550T costs $200.

Viewsonic VPCo8 Phone with Windows

The VPCo8 is a combination of a MID – Mobile Internet Device – and a cellphone, and in case you are a Microsoft fan it’s your lucky day because the device runs Windows XP as the operative system.

In terms of features, it offers a 2-inch display with 512MB in the RAM memory, and a 8GB SSD disk to transfer data quickly. The processor is an Intel Atom Z600 and the other goodies include a QWERTY keyboard after you flip it open, and has a price tag of approximately $700.

Can’t miss this one if you want Windows XP in a portable device.

Garmin Nuvi 1860 GPS

The Garmin Nuvi 1860 was announced to the public a few months ago, but it will only become available for purchase in the upcoming weeks, in the UK.

For Garmin this is pretty much a special GPS because it includes a couple of features they don’t usually make use of, like a camera with geo-tagging capabilities, and a wireless WiFi connection with a browser to surf the web. Anyhow, the Nuvi 1860 will run a Linux OS and boast a 4.8-inch screen size.

Thankfully there is an extra after the purchase, which is a 1 year subscription for free, to access their nuLink services like Google local search, traffic, events, and other. Price is close to $800.

Samsung U320 at FCC website

The upcoming Samsung U320 cellphone has been spotted at the FCC approval website, in other words, it will most probably become available to the public in a few months.

The Samsung U320 will serve as a replacement for the old U310, but the basic features should still be the same, and when we mean basic it’s really simple: no bluetooth, no camera, no special goodies. Only a large dial pad and a green + red button.

Apple Being Sued by Chinese Manufacturer for iPad Design

Now this is a kind of news that made me laugh out loud,So,i thought i should share it with you too...

Normally you would think that Apple would be doing all the suing from a little-known company for some infringement or patents violations. This time it is the other way around. A Chinese company called Shenzhen Great Long Brother Industrial Co. is reportedly suing Apple for the iPad design, a patent which they claim they had already filed for a P88 tablet last May 2009.

While it seems like an impossible task to get back at Apple on US soil, it looks like Apple will join Google in having a tough time penetrating the consumer market over at China. Remember, China has a good number of subscribers but I bet some of Apple’s iPads will make their way there anyway; with or without Apple’s licensed distribution!

Intex releases the iSmart

Besides the IN 6622, Intex has also launched a new cellphone named iSmart that has a good resemblance to the BlackBerry.

In terms of features it boats a 2.2-inch TFT display, and a QWERTY keypad. It weighs close to 100 grams, and its dimensions are set at 11 x 58 x 12.8 mm. You can expand its memory up to 4GB, and the battery life can last approximately 10 hours in talking mode. As for the BlackBerry look-a-like, it’s trackball navigation and whatnot.

Intex launches Intex IN 6622

All the way from India, Intex Technologies has launched a new cellphone codenamed IN 6622.

The Intex IN 6622 was made for the Indian market and can be considered a low-end device, but the specifications are pretty good taking in consideration the price. Some of the highlights include a big TFT display screen of 7.1cm, a 2-megapixel camera, and being DUAL Sim.

the Intex IN 6622 will become available in 3 colors: black, white, and red.

AirMouse comes straight out of Minority Report

Clearly, someone at Deanmark really enjoys Minority Report, or else they would have never come up with this glove interface that Tom Cruise was using in the opening sequence. The sensors are on the thumb, index finger, and middle finger, for crying out loud! Steven Spielberg might sue.

This AirMouse (not to be confused with the one that Logitech makes) is completely wireless, uses and optical laser, and can run for a week on a single charge. It is also very accurate, as it can align with the ligaments of a user’s hand and wrist.

Deanmark, a Canadian company, is planning to release the mouse this year for about $129. Too bad it doesn’t come with that cool and curvaceous transparent screen that Tom Cruise was using.
