Barnes & Noble’s eReader Nook has had a bumpy start in the competition against the Kindle, but it seems that it’s getting better now, with a software update released to fix all the bugs and quirks. Counting all the pre-orders and sales of the Nook, B & N expects to ship just over 60,000 of them this year. This is compared to Amazon, which shipped a massive 400,000 Kindles in its first year.
However, over half a million Nooks are expected to be sold during the first year of 2010, which definitely means that the war between the Nook and Kindle is on.
