Design
The body is formed mostly of plastic with curved reflective metal edges. The main center of attraction is the touchscreen and below it there are three soft keys for calling and accessing application shortcuts. Above the screen there is a front facing camera for making video calls and there are four keys on the right side including a volume rocker, a dedicated camera key and a handset lock.
Interface
The interface is a proprietary LG interface designed with fingers in mind. It is very touch friendly similar to the Viewty. The menus and all major interfaces are well designed for use with fingers. The on-screen buttons are also large enough so that fat fingered ones won’t face a problem to make a selection. However, some buttons seem very close, so there is a possibility to make a wrong selection while typing at speed.
Touchscreen
The touchscreen size is nearly the same as other competing models with 3 inches display at 240 X 400 pixels resolution. The touchscreen uses a resistive technology which is sometimes a little inaccurate and needs pressure to get the clicks. It uses a haptic feedback i.e. the phone vibrates when a button on the screen is selected. There is also handwriting recognition but it needs you write clear letters like those in lower class students to get it work correctly. The touchscreen won’t win any award from us.
Camera
Camera is the main feature of this phone. It uses a Schneider Kreuznach lens and LED Flash. There is also a nice lens cover which can opened by a switch which is placed exactly where you would expect a camera focusing ring. The camera software is full featured with various settings and modes to boot. The autofocus camera has the capability to shoot macro or close up photos, has face and blink detection, digital image stabilization, adjustable image sensitivity and also a unique beauty shot feature which is expected to remove spots from your girlfriend’s face to make her look more beautiful than she actually is.

It is also capable of shooting videos at 120 fps so that you can enjoy the movies even in extreme slow motion. The normal video quality is also worth a praise. There is also a noise cancellation technology which cuts down the background noise during a video record.
Music & Videos
This mobile features Dolby Mobile technology which does produce nice output sound quality. The Dolby process enhanced the sound quality by particularly improving the bass range of the sound. It was capable to play all the common sound formats like MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC++ and WMA. It also supports wide range of video formats including DivX and Xvid formats to let you watch movies on your phone. There is also a built-in radio to when you don’t want to listen to the stored musics on its supported 16GB memory card.
Connectivity
It is a quad band GSM phone supporting 850/900/1800/1900 bands. It also supports 3G HSDPA with 900/2100 bands as well as 850/1900 band for American version. There is Bluetooth with A2DP support for listening to stereo music via wirelessly. There is also WiFi connectivity as well as GPS with A-GPS Support. SO, there is nothing to complain about connectivity options.
Web Browser
The web browser is also fantastic. Webpage rendering was fast and the pictures and other contents looked sharp and clear.
Battery Life
The system comes with a 1000 mAh Lithium battery which is below the average standard for a full touchscreen phone like this. You can expect it to run two days only with light or moderate use. After using the camera for 3-4 hours it showed very low battery levels and we had to charge it again. We also noticed that the battery warmed considerably when making a long call.
Pros
- Camera quality is very good
- Finger friendly Interface
- Decent Web Browser
- DivX and Xvid Video Support
- Dolby Mobile Audio
Cons
- No 3.5 mm headphone port on phone
- Poor Battery Life
Conclusion
Though the phone is packed with highest specs, it is not a smartphone. It is both a strength and a weakness of the phone. It is definately not a phone for the businessmen but this makes the phone’s user interface fast and responsive and the OS is a lot more stable. If you have no complain about the battery life or poor call quality, this is a great phone to amuse you with its sheer entertainment features.
