Most, if not all, handset manufacturers have one or more smart phones on the market today and HTC is no exception. What they don’t have, however, is a dumb phone marketed towards the entry level, budget conscious crowd. Today, they have just that - and ironically enough it’s called the HTC Smart. The device itself will run on the Brew platform that we heard about yesterday and will hit carriers in Europe and Asia sometime this Spring.

Spec wise we’re looking at a 3MP camera, 256MB of RAM and ROM and both 3G and EDGE. Although it has the Brew platform, it will feature the Sense UI that we’ve all come to know and love.

Sharper Image has been associated with classy and luxury tech products for decades, and I saw a prime example last night at CES unveiled. The Roman Clock Speaker is a simply dock for the iPhone/iPod Touch that uses a new app to make an old clock.

It really is a perfect mix of old and new aesthetics, and it can play music just as well, filling whatever room it is in with quality sound. I’m not certain of the price of this guy, but it should be available in August or September of this year.

Edifier Luna 5 Encore

While at CES 2010, I discovered Edifier, a company that is doing quite good in Europe and Asia. Now they are trying to sell their products over in North America, and one of them is the Luna 5 Encore iF500.

This is an MP3 player speaker that works well with iPod and iPhones, and it has a speaker shape that I can only describe as a big matchhead. It comes with an FM tuner, and will have to admit that the sound was pretty kickin’. It should be in North American stores for an estimated price of about $329.

DNA actually stands for Dynamic Neural Audio, not the double helix molecule that you learned about in biology class. In this case, you can bend the speakers to your whim without doing any genetic manipulation. They cost about $40, and run on USB or batteries.

GenevaSound S iPod dock

Sure, there are a lot of terrific iPod Speakers out there, and the GenevaSound System is certainly minimalist enough. I mean, it is just a redbox with a place for an iPod, for goodness sake!

The North Face allows access to the iPod, from a jacket

Right now, it is winter in my corner of the world. If I want to take my tunes with me on my iPod, it is difficult to change the playlist and access other buttons with gloves on.

The North Face has come up with some jackets that allow the users to access their iPod from their jackets at the sleeves, so wearing gloves should be no problem when hitting these buttons. The jacket is pretty expensive, though. It costs about $350.
