My God,how the EyePod has changed since the 19th century

I found this shot of an EyePod, and couldn’t help but be thankful for the technological advancements of the last century.

I mean, today’s iPod has no eye on it, and they have dropped the Victrola horn in exchange for headphones.

Seriously, I thought this might be fun posting before the weekend, so have a good one. Be grateful that we never lived the the nightmarish steampunk era that would have created this Eyepod.

More pictures of the upcoming Asus eReader have been revealed, and the 9 inch eReader — officially known as Asus DR-950 e-reader — with a touchscreen looks surprisingly good, enough to get the attention from Amazon, who could definitely use the competition.

Sony Ericsson quarterly earnings better, but still in red

Sony Ericsson has announced their sales figures for the final quarter of 2009, and the company had revenues of $2.45 billion — an improvement of almost $170 million compared to last year. However, the operating margin is still at -2%, and the company hasn’t turned a profit since 2005.

Motorola Milestone updated to Android 2.0.1

In France. Yep, the French Motorola Milestone owners have gotten the sweet Android 2.0.1 update, and users in rest of Europe will get the update shortly, according to Motorola. The new “minor update”, adds Exchange support, new touch gestures, improves in-call audio quality, among other things. Motorola revealed a few weeks ago that they plan on updating the Milestone to 2.1 later this Spring.

Windows Mobile 7 might be out by the end of the year, and cell phone companies want it

According to Digitimes, Mobile World Congress is announcing an end-of-2010 launch of Windows Mobile 7.

There is also talk of HTC putting out a new type of phone called the Obession or Diamond 3, to be offered on AT&T and T-Mobile. Apparently, LG is also ready with a phone called the Apollo.

Of course, we’ve been hearing about this Windows Mobile 7 for a while, and I’m not certain what is real and what’s not.

Nuvifone M10 from Garmin and Asus

Garmin and Asus has come out with the Nuvifone M10, a phone that has Windows Mobile 6.5.3. It also has a 3.5 WVGA display, a 5 megapixel camera, 512 MB of ROM and RAM, as well as a microSD slot.

This phone will be available in Taiwan on February 6th, for about $435.

Acer Aspire Predator G7750-A64 Revealed

Acer has revealed a new gaming desktop with the Acer Aspire Predator G7750-A64. This new Acer Aspire Predator desktop is the latest version of the Acer Aspire Predator gaming setup, sporting a familiar orange and black chassis design.

Among the features of the G7750-A64 include a Core i7-960 CPU at 3.20 GHz and dual NVIDIA GTX 260 video cards. They are scheduled to be shipped by February for about 289,800 YEN. No word on how much and when it would be made available internationally.

Pantech’s latest cell phone, the Sky IM-U560K

Pantech, a Korean phone manufacturer, has announced their latest cellular phone, the Sky IM-U560K.

As you may have guessed from this photo, the Sky IM-U560K appears to be designed for a feminine audience. It has a 2.6 inch touchscreen display, DMB TV tuner, MP3 Player, and a Korean to English TTS (Text to Speech Translator). It also has an accelerometer that allows for movements and hand gestures.

Hallods FH8800 1080p PMP Appears in Japan

A new and much improved PMP has been outed by Hallods with the Hallods FH8800 PMP. This new device sports a 4.3” PMP with 1080p support. It only provides an 800×480 resolution and supports common media file formats ranging from MPEG-4, FLV, H.264 up to 3GP videos.

The FH8800 PMP also comes with an HDMI out and USB OTG. It has a storage capacity of 16GB and retails for roughly $289.

Amazon Kindle to have its own App store?

It would appear that if you want to make some successful mobile device, then you have to have an app store. We all know that it worked on Apple, and BlackBerry has one as well.

Amazon is now trying to get in the App game as they are opening up the Kindle for apps. They are planning on launching a beta version of the app program next month, but it is not known when it will be fully available to everyone.

T-Mobile lowers prices on BlackBerries

T-Mobile has lowered the price on two of its BlackBerry handsets, but you will have to sign a two-year agreement to get the low prices.

The Bold 9700, normally $199.99, is going to be lowered to $129.99. The Curve 8520, which is normally $129.99 is $79.99. If you’re in the market for a BlackBerry, you might want to check out T-Mobile.

DIY Netbook modification makes it the fastest in the world

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the fastest netbook in the world. Yeah, I know, anytime someone says “world’s (something)”, I always say: “you’re right, for now”.
