MSI CR720 Laptop

MSI offers another lightweight laptop solution that should suit the middle class just fine. The MSI CR720 is a new mobile device from Micro Star International that is just 1” thick, weighs only 3 kg and comes with a pre-installed Windows 7 OS.

Among the features of the MSI CR720 include its 17.3” screen with a 1600×900 resolution, an Intel HM55 processor, a choice of HDD storage (250/320/500GB), a DVD drive, 1.3 megapixel webcam and the usual WLAN connectivity. It also includes an HDMI, D-sub port, USB and audio ports. No word on pricing and date of release but this laptop is expected to be cost-friendly.

N2B1 – Storage System by LG

The N2B1 is a NAS – Network Attached Storage – device made by LG which seems pretty cool for everything it has to offer. Unlike the other devices of the same kind, this LG model actually has a Blu-ray burner that can free up to 50GB of content in a matter of minutes…

As you can imagine by its name, this NAS device can be easily connected to the internet so you can upload or download files, or make back-ups. The other good features of the LG N2B1 include the support for a BiTorrent client, as well as iTunes so you can share music, and the more normal network printer sharing system.

For $300 you can buy the LG N2B1 which comes with a 500GB hard-drive. (there are two hard-drive bays so you can easily add 1TB)

MiniPC ED510 netbook

MiniPC is not new in the market of netbooks or nettops, and has recently released another unit codenamed ED510. Lets start with the bad news which means it doesn’t include any HDMI or DVI output. And now lets go for the good news which is the price – $200 – and what you can find in the inside:

- dual-core Atom D510 at 1,66GHz;
- maximum of 4GB of DDR2;
- an Intel NM10 Express Chipset;
- a GMA 3150 Graphics;
- and all the other goodies you’d expect from a netbook

Alienware M11x notebook gets official price

The last time I mentioned the Alienware M11x there wasn’t an official price tag, just an estimate… But the good news is that today the price has been officially announced and it starts at $799.

For the price tag of $799 you get a Nvidia GT330M graphics card, and a 11.6-inch LCD screen. One of the best details is the long battery life that can last up to 6,5 hours. At this moment there is no information about the processor and the official release date of the Alienware M11x.

Archos 7 Tablet running Android?

This is not official news but it does seem that the Archos 7 Tablet will run the Android OS, at least according the image on the right.

Anyhow, the Archos 7 should have a 7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels, and besides the usual WiFi it also has 8GB of internal memory. It supports a lot of different format files of video, audio, and images, such as FLV, MP3, and JPG.

The Archos 7 Tablet with the Android OS will have an approximate price tag of $250.

Samsung HZ35W camera with GPS

Samsung has recently presented a digital camera that comes with a special feature, which is a GPS receiver.

As you can imagine, this GPS receiver is only useful for one situation – in case you want to geotag your images it will always save the latitude and longitude, as well as the city and the country.

As for the specifications of the camera itself, it has a 3-inch AMOLED display, 12-megapixels, 15x of zoom, and can record high definition videos at 720p with 30 frames per second.

Garmin releases new version of Approach: G5

Approach is the name of a software produced by Garmin which is specifically made for golfers that use their handheld devices.

The good news in case you own a GPS and play golf, is that Approach G5 has been released and now includes a couple of new and useful features, like measuring how far you hit at every show, and presenting an easy way to keep track of fairway hits.

If you’re a hardcore golfer there is the option to track which club you are using at every shot.

Well, this is got to be one of those all in one devices with 3USB Hubs, a Keyboard, and a mousepad.

This is definitely a good accessory to have for those accountants who do their work by laptop and need that extra number pad, not to mention the mouse pad. The best part about it is that it is only $25, and it is plug-and-play.

The smallQWERTY by Mobience

When it comes to interfacing with a smartphone, there are those who prefer the all-out touchscreen keyboard method, and others, like myself, who can’t live without a QWERTY keyboard.

A South-Korean company known as Mobience has come up with the smallQWERTY, a mobile device that is a traditional button input for those who don’t like the full touchscreen interface. It also must be made for those that love the traditional texting, but I must say that the letters are kind of in the wrong places. However, I noticed that the letters that come first are the most used letters of the alphabet, so it might be a good change. It might take some getting used to, though.
