The Samsung r800 Delve is a candy bar style cell phone with conference call capability, a phone book with capacity for five hundred names and numbers, mobile email and internet browser, seventy two built-in ring tones, a two megapixel digital camera (the camera even boasts a variety of features), alarm clock, calendar, basic calculator, stopwatch, MP3 recorder, and a maximum of two hundred eighty two minutes talk time on a single charge.
What’s most unusual about the Samsung r800 Delve is that it depends almost exclusively on touch screen controls–there are precious few external controls of any type to be had here. This may not matter to some people, and may be a good thing to others, but will definitely turn off some who’d rather not be poking their finger at the screen every time they want to make a call.
But one thing’s clear enough–the Samsung r800 has plenty of great features, even if you’re not fond of the interface.
The Good
Lots of great features
Compact styling
The Bad
Almost exclusively touchscreen-driven with minimal outside control
Score: 7/10
